The Oncoming Storm: Betaed and Reposted (Complete!)

You all must be sick of this by now so mommy is hiding this behind an lj-cut. Click if you like but be warned, this is all old news. LOL.

Unbelievably, after over a year since its first post, I have The Oncoming Storm completely betaed, recoded, and cleaned up! Finally! LOL.

I'm sorry it took so long. That was my failing, no one else's. Many kudos and utmost love to snakeling for first taking the reins, then [livejournal.com profile] soullessminion for tackling this monstrosity. [livejournal.com profile] trtmx saved this mommy from insanity by teaching her some simple LJ shortcuts.

So, while this isn't the sequel, I had truly wanted to get this fic betaed, tweaked with everything everyone taught me here. Thank you all for your great feedback, your constant support and for being such great friends! I was afraid to post on LJ long time ago. You've all made the experience so rewarding.

And because I've never had this before and it still tickles me to see it, I'm posting again here the very first fanmix I ever received:

Many hugs to [livejournal.com profile] bassair for this! I still smile seeing this! You can click the image to get to the fanmix.

This is so awesome! I was sent icons as well which my neighbor's son has taught me how to put in my iPod so I have pretty every day with my music!

And if any of you are still interesting in reading the fic again (it's still very long though), the first chapter is here:

[ Torchwood: The Oncoming Storm ]

PS: And yes, I am working on the sequel, determined to have betaed by mid-March thanks to a clever prod from [livejournal.com profile] annaklaus.:)

Hooray! Any chance this will ever be available in a downloadable format? :)

There has been talk about PDFs and Lulu Press but I have to be sure these are safe and practical solutions. [Bad username or site: :mrwubbles @ livejournal.com] runs a fan press and has offered to help with the professional layouts pro bono but goodness, at 1368 pages, it may not be available until summer! :)

Yay, I gave a clever prod! 2010 is officially a success. :-)

(True story: This is my second attempt at commenting. I had to delete my first comment because I spelled "clever" wrong. *facepalm*)

LOL. Well, misspels aside, the prod helped. :)

Thanks for the final version of OS and I can't wait for the sequel!

March? I'm not sure I can wait that long. I guess I'll just re-read until then.

hoping that none of the team dies in the sequel kthxbai.

Yay! I've read the other version(s?) of this fic several times already and I can't wait to see what kind of changes you've made in the finished version. I absolutely adore this fic!

going to sound cheeky, ungrateful and rude :-/ but, do you have 1 page that has links to all the parts on it? Rather than going page to page to page. If I have 1 main index page, I can DL it to my PDA and read. Otherwise, I don't have the patience. (I know me). I went to Tag, but it takes me here.

I disagree. It didn't feel long at all. I was sorry it ended so quickly.

[identity profile] snufflesdbear.livejournal.com 2010-01-10 05:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I think "long" is a matter of perspective. I have read 25k stories that took me all day, and felt like it took a week. I have read 228k stories that took little time (for me) and felt like they read so fast.

Quality of the writing. The fact that the author has taken the time to get it reedited and beta'd, makes it more interesting for me to read.

Due to brain problems, it takes me a while to read stuff. So I like having it all together. Otherwise, I forget what I am reading. :-/

You realize that I'm going to have to re-read this (again) and check for typos now. *grins*

This story was the story that hooked me on TW fanfic and got me back in the world of writing. It's always going to be one of my favorites.

I've just read this fic, and I just wanted to let you know that I thought that, whilst it was painful, it was beautifully done. I was practically glued to the screen! Thanks for writing and posting it! I'm very much looking forward to the sequel :)

[identity profile] tygerc.livejournal.com 2010-01-18 05:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Yay, time to reread this. Although this _is_ painful, at least now I don't have to wait for the next chapter to be posted.

Yeah.... good to know that you are still writing storm!!

[identity profile] cprefect.livejournal.com 2010-02-18 12:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah!!!

I can wait ever so patiently.... just think I will start seeing patients for real in less than 90 days.. LOL

I am scared!!
