Apparently, hubby needs to drive into NYC Penn Station, pick up his parents, then drive back...now.

NOW?!

So no post today as in-laws are coming two days early, my mother and SiL not coming in until tomorrow as scheduled. Damn. I needed them to buffer.

Excuse me while I go wash the cats, fold the dishes and feed my laundry. :D

Act V tomorrow. Well, the daily post was a nice thought. I had to give it a try. Sorry, guys.

LOL. I can't wait until my mother and my sister in law gets here. At least SiL can commisserate together because last year it was at her house. Hence why she declared they're NOT doing it this year.

Oh, I can chase cats, climb trees (well, before), watch horror movies, but my MiL makes me want to hide. Argh....

Now my OWN, mother, on the other hand, was capable of driving me completely round the twist.

It's weird. My mother and I didn't get along famously until my marriage and I was out of the house. LOL

As for MiL, she treats me and SiL like we have personally offended her by marrying her boys and always makes a point to show her sons how we're not perfect. But I never claimed I was.

I'm assuming it has ornaments and lights on it, so how can it 'look empty?' There aren't enough ornaments to please her? They're the wrong kind?

Not a lot of presents. She got (thank God) clothes, books and stuffed animals for SiL and my kids.

She's leaving on the 28th instead because turns out hubby and his bro chipped in and got her and their dad a week escape at a B&B in Ct for Christmas. There IS a Santa Claus! LOL

Oh definitely. I'm australian of chinese ethnicity and it's definitely a running joke in both cultures (and between them :) My grandmother has tales about the epic battles between her grandmother and her mother. It's also a recurring theme historically in the literature, from around the world. Oh, and a newlywed wife I met on holiday left for Europe alone and refused to go home until he moved out of his mother place. So be thankful they don't live with you full time :)

You sound frazzled XD. I'm glad I don't have to deal with in-laws (yet. My older brothers engaged though -_-)
Anyway, you sound like you need a boost, so I thought i was about time I de-lurked. I've been hiding under my rock reading this story from quite close to the beginning...can't rememeber exactly when, somewhere around when Jack and Ianto met for the first time...and I've been hooked ever since. Your writing is quite incredible, and your dedication is incredible too. I don't think you realise just how many people are jealous of your talent.
So don't worry about RL - sometimes even big pointy sticks can't make it leave you alone :D. We'll all be waiting her patiently for when you get back, and cheering you on in the holiday battles.
