Thanksgiving Turkeys

I was rudely cut off driving to Stop-n-Shop, cut in front of at the register lines, had nearly gotten my shopping cart taken because I stepped away to reach for the canned pumpkins, I come home: chicken, chestnuts, celery, potatoes, yams, pork chops, all the things to make a Thanksgiving and hubby just now, peers into the fridge with a hang dog expression and says...

"Aw, no Cool Whip?"

Oh, I'm a tyrant in the kitchen. (mine, mine, mine, lol) but yes, I even had the fixings to make peanut butter pie yet he wants to dunk my fresh baked cookies in a tub of cool whip.

But darn, me too.

I long the day my twins tell me they'll cook, but then again, I think that would make me sad too because I really don't mind cooking for them.

It's going to get the shopping done for the cooking that annoys me. LOL

I'm going to Chicago Tardis for Thanksgiving, so I made a turkey (mostly for myself, but I invited friends to have some) yesterday. Last year's turned out better.

Yessiree we have instant whipped cream in a can, we also have brandied pouring cream every christmas!
Hubbie goes thru three litres of that in no time at all!

It's a horrible, horrible invention of artificial whipped cream and oh, you're lucky you don't have it there because honestly, like bakaknight just mentioned below, it can easily be made but oh alas, when you want a quick snack, the tub of cool whip is an evil, easy way out. :)

Tell him that if he wants Cool Whip then he and the twins can go out together with just enough money to get it (and no Visa. No Turducken again this year, lol).

OR.

Tell him to go get OMG REAL CREAM. And then tell him that he and the twins have to MAKE whipped cream if they want it this year. With a hand-crank whatsits.

No more turduken! I think after last year, after everyone had a taste and saw how long it took before anyone could eat anything else, it was wordlessly and unanimously agreed it was worth trying ONCE
