Sometimes, it's really hard to sit down and write.

Sometimes, I feel like "Why bother?"

But I reread all your wonderful words of support...

And I pick up the pen again.

Just wanted to say: to my lovely readers, you thank me for writing "The Oncoming Storm", but I am thankful for you for reading it. Your feedback astounds me still. They uplift me when really, I want to cry because the words aren't coming out right or fast enough.

The sequel is never far from my thoughts. Sometimes, it's intimidating to write it up against it's sibling TOS. But it'll get done. Proper, with all my love for the readers, for Janto, for this universe. I'll get it done. I promise.

In the meantime, thank you for sticking around, for recc-ing, for reading, for being you.

i have not been keeping up with the torchwood fandom but i do so adore your writing and i know how it feels when it seems the words have just abandoned you

but do not be discouraged!

The Oncoming Storm is still one of my all time favourite TW fics. Even now, I tell people to read it. :D

And I totally understand what you mean about the words not coming out right. I have that trouble right now with my current fic for my Time Verse series. *SIGH* Still, perseverance is the key I guess... if we write it, they will come.

I was focussing on SPAG, consistent font and formatting and making sure it was all in there in the right order. If you want to try to make it smaller, feel free.

Nono; I recognise that it's a sodoff great big huge file in general. The few times I've tried to put one together myself have actually managed to crash the computer.

And since I tried this on all three of them, you can imagine how much it takes to crash them all.

I had separate word docs for each chapter, and got Acrobat to combine them that way. I'd tried having doc files of the story in the past, but if I put more than a few chapters in a file it'd seize up on me.

I wasn't being snappy, by the way. If you do figure out a way to make it smaller, go for it. I know it's likely possible; it's just text after all, with nothing more fancy than bold and italic.

Hey, no problem. It was a lot of work, but it was fun. Whenever I tried to put the whole of TOS in a doc file, it crashed my computer, so it was just a matter of my own convenience, more than anything. :)

I am new to TW fandom and just spent the last week reading TOS and it's the best I've read by far. Thank you for sharing your gift and I'll be looking out for its sequel - so many possibilities!

It took me 2 years to write a 20 chapter fic for another fandom so I think you're doing all right. Lol. You're probably off on your surprise cruise & I hope you're having a grand time. I just wanted to let you know that I just finished reading TOC for the third time in 3 years & it still holds every bit of the power it did the first time I read it it. I still hold my breath in places, get teary in others, and cheer when they manage to snatch a victory from nearly impossible circumstances. I eagerly look forward to the sequel but I know crafting & polishing a story that massive takes time. When it's ready, I'll be here to read it.

I was just gushing to a friend about how amazing the Oncoming Storm was.

me: and there's this amazing whole sequence in which all the guys and girls in Torchwood 1 call him Captain Jack Hotness
and Ianto's like :| I do not like him I do not like him I do not like him
and finds himself calling him Captain Jack Hotness and he's like DAMNIT IT'S HARKNESS
and then they make out in the elevator <3

and that's just like... chapter one
in like 50k word
and then she rewrote the actual Torchwood, and that was just...heartbreaking and amazing and painful and oh god.

I hung on every word of this fic for so long
it's something like 500k words long
and I have read it about six times

^about 1/10th of the gushing.

Anyway, I guess I thought you might appreciate hearing your fic is still loved massively and that I like to gush obsessively about it to friends who don't even watch Torchwood as I was on your page anyway to see if the sequel was any closer.

I'm glad you're still working on it. <3 I will be here waiting until it comes out.
